The short answer is NO!

 

Our standard file type is a self executing file that runs just like any other program. It will not require the installation of the file - it simply runs and opens the publication on the user’s desktop. When the user has finished with the publication, it can be simply removed from the computer by deleting the file.

 

For clients who may need some of the special features we offer, such as digital rights management, creation of user notes, or the opening of publications within web-sites (as opposed to downloading files), we will provide a different type of file that can accommodate these features. This file type will involve the user in downloading and installing a small reader application. However, this can be done transparently when ever a user accesses the publication for the first time. From that point on, the user will be able to read all publications of this type without having to reinstall the application.
